Sure, Beethoven may be a famous composer, but he's a beloved dog, too! The classic '90s film came out 23 years ago and the cast has changed a lot since then.

Charles Grodin, 80 — "George Newton"
Charles was already very established in Hollywood before he signed up to portray the Newton family patriarch — who at first hates the idea of having a dog, but eventually falls in love with the lovable drool-ster because oooooobvi. Along with starring in hit films like 1968's Rosemary's Baby and 1976's King Kong, Charles also starred in the 1993 Beethoven sequel, Beethoven's 2nd. The father-of-two, who briefly retired from the scene in the mid '90s, resurfaced in 2006 when he starred in The Ex. He was most recently seen in 2014's While We're Young alongside Ben Stiller and Naomi watts.
Bonnie Hunt, 54 — "Alice Newton"
Excuse us while we fangirl over our beloved Bonnie. After playing arguably the best mom in movies, she went on to star in several hits including Jumanji, Jerry Maguire and the Cheaper by the Dozen' flicks. She's also an accomplished comedian, writer and producer. From 2008 to 2010, she served as executive producer on her talk show, The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Nicholle Tom, 37 — "Ryce Newton"
Though she's best known for her role as the Newton kid with the weirdest name, most people know her as Maggie on The Nanny, which aired on CBS from 1993 to 1999. Since then, she voiced Supergirl in the Superman TV series and went on to star on several TV shows including Criminal Minds, The Mentalist and most recently, Gotham.
Christopher Castile, 35 — "Ted Newton"
The nerdy, yet lovable middle child decided to leave Hollywood behind after the cancellation of his TV show, Step By Step, in 1998. He pursued a career in education and currently teaches high school social studies at Downey High in Downey, Calif. (Could you imagine if you walked into your social studies class on the first day of high school and saw TED standing in the front?)
Sarah Rose Karr, 30 — "Emily Newton"
She was one of the cutest child stars, but the little lady — who was saved by Beethoven after she nearly drowned in a neighbor's pool! — pretty much disappeared in Hollywood in the mid-1990s. Some sites claim she graduated from New University of Florida. One Facebook fan says this is a recent photo of her, though we cannot confirm if that's true. Regardless, we hope you're happy and healthy, girl!
Dean Jones, 84 — "Dr. Herman Varnick"
This dude still gives us nightmares. But these days he's not busy being an awful veterinarian — he's retired and lives with his wife in California.
Stanley Tucci, 54 & Oliver Platt, 55 — "Vernon" & "Harvey"
Ah, the bad guys turned out to be pretty cool dudes! Stanley — who just welcomed his fourth child in January — has starred in a slew of hit movies including The Devil Wears Prada and The Hunger Games films. He's also a Golden Globe and Emmy winner! As for Oliver, the father-of-three has more than 85 acting credits to his name! He most recently starred on The Good Wife.
David Duchovny, 55 & Patricia Heaton, 57 — "Brad" & "Brie"
Ugh, didn't you just HATE them in the movie…and LOVE Beethoven for taking them on a ride during that BBQ scene? Both David and Patricia went on to have extremely successful careers. He starred on Californication and The X-Files, which is making a comeback this summer. Patricia is best known for her role as Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond. She currently stars on The Middle.
