On December 17, 2018, Catriona Gray came out as the winner of the Miss Universe 2018. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (Miss Universe 2017) of South Africa crowned her successor at the grand event. Gray is the fourth Filipino to win the Miss Universe.
